1. What does the lifetime warranty cover?
The lifetime warranty is pretty straightforward, and covers both the dampers and springs. You can download our warranty information here. Also, in the past 4 years we have been in business we have NEVER had a coilover fail. So trust us, you’re not going to be sending any dampers back to us anytime soon.
2. What makers your damper better than others?
Now this is going to be a long one folks, so I hope you take the time to read this. Well to be straight to the point, our machine quality rivals the best in the industry, and our coilover system is built to last. The equipment is only as good as the person controlling it. With the proper equipment in hand, backed with our experienced staff, we produce an outstanding and tough damper. Every one of our customers always comments on the finish of our product, and every machinist who has ever seen our product in person has always commented on the quality of our tooling and machining. We take great pride in the quality of machining we produce, and not only is it far better than products sold cheaper than ours, but it will also rival the best the industry has to offer. You can rest assure we use top-quality parts with our products as well, working with suppliers such as Hyperco and Aurora Bearing to name a few, which none of the companies in our price range really do. You don't have to take our word for it, but there are very few manufacturers that can claim that they have NEVER had a blown damper or a damper sent back for repair. We simply have not had any failures in the past 4 years, and if that does not make you confident in purchasing our product, I personally don't know what will. If you want to save a few hundred bucks and risk having a blown damper because of a poorly-made product then so be it. But rest assured you are paying for a service and for quality parts when you purchase from us. You’re not paying for a name, or for a cheap coilover system that has pretty colors and poor assembly. Our business began solely on custom coilover systems and we can tell you that no two coilover systems are equal. This is one of the many reasons why we have such a great number of happy customers – we work with almost every single customer directly to provide a damper that will best suit their specific needs. The reality is we are here providing dampers that will last, and we have the warranty as well as the track record to back up what we claim. We are not selling replacement dampers for 100 bucks like some companies do which is affordable, but let's be real here. Why are you even purchasing a replacement damper? Do you honestly believe a $100 replacement damper is going to be good quality? Do you realize the amount of work and labor involved to machine those parts, as well as the cost of materials to make a quality damper? Well let us tell you, it sure is not 100 bucks, and even with labor being cheap, the cost of materials exceed what is required to make a quality damper. Also, that should give you a glimpse of the actual cost of the product and the company’s margins for selling replacement dampers anywhere near that price. There is a reason why many coilovers in the sub 700-900 range do not last, and that is a combination of poor machining, poor quality materials, and poor quality control. If you'd like to continue to believe that you can find a quality damper in that price range then so be it, we are not going to twist your arm. But remember we make custom strut tower bars and many other products, and our prices are based on the cost of materials as well as the labor involved. Our custom strut tower bars can go all the way up to $250 for just labor, not including cost of materials. Don't try to convince us that a damper costs less to make or is easier to make for that matter when the reality is, it's not. This is what we do everyday, so think about that. We also put together this small video to give you a small glimpse of what sets us apart from the rest. View it here.
3. What diameter spring do you use?
We use a pretty standard size which is 2.5" ID. Our most commonly used length spring is 7", with 8" being the next most commonly used.
4. Can your coilovers be rebuilt?
Of course.
5. How low can I lower my car?
Well that truly depends on the application, but on most applications you will have more than enough adjustability to get your desired lowering. We also ask all our customers the height they plan to lower their car to when we are discussing the setup that we'd like to build for them.
6. Do you offer any sponsorships?
You know, this year is the first time we have ever sponsored anyone. We really do not sponsor a lot of people because we just don't want to increase our exposure and workload to the point where we get backlogged. There was a period where we had a 12-month lead time and it was something that we did not enjoy putting our customers through, but the amount of growth we experienced was tremendous. But we are blessed to have some really great, supportive and patient customers that love our product and what we do. Trust us, we are a small company, but we’re a busy one. We do not mind anyone sending in their sponsorship proposals, but please remember we don't sponsor a lot of people. Don't let that stop you from sending in your sponsorship proposals though if you feel you can bring something to the table. Whether you’re an individual, or a race team, it does not matter. We welcome them all, but we kindly request that your sponorship proposal be laid out in a professional manner, and not simply an e-mail message with a single picture asking if we will sponsor you.
7. Who is Hyperco, and what makes it the best?
Hyperco is a spring manufacturer in the United States whose sole business is springs. The people behind Hyperco live and breathe spring technology, and they offer a lifetime warranty on their product. You can visit them at www.hypercoils.com. They simply build the best springs on the market, making springs is their business and they have been a pioneer in the suspension industry for decades. We are so very happy to be working with Hyperco and with their outstanding staff who treat us like family. Their new OBD spring is simply outstanding, and out of all the manufacturers out there we could have chosen, we chose Hyperco based on the performance of their products and the outstanding warranty to back them up, just like AMR. You can also view a video that shows some of the features of their new OBD spring here. Kelly does a wonderful job in the video explaining some of the features of their new OBD Spring, but there is more. One of the most important things to us is building a coilover system that not only lasts a long period of time, but also performs for a long period of time. The shock fluid we use is formulated not to overheat, and combat from breaking down. Our coilovers sometimes see long track abuse, so not only does the damper need to perform for a long period, but the spring as well. This is where Hyperco really shines. Not only is there springs linearity consistant, but the length of time they perform at their advertised rate is longer than many of the other brands we tested. So what does all this produce? This produces a combination that will provide consistent dampening throughout a extended period of time whether it is track use or normal daily driving. It is small things like this that sets both of our companies apart from the rest.
8. Can you make a coilover for my application?
We have made coilovers for applications such as the Saturn S-series. The Saturn crowd really had no coilover offering at the time, and the ones they did have were all discontinued. So we built the system from the ground up, and even went as far as purchasing a vehicle to R&D the product, and make other custom parts to increase their aftermarket support. So yes, we can make coilovers for any application, and have done just that in the past. Simply e-mail us what your application is and what you have in mind, and we can discuss the project with you. Please note that we do not always accept all the orders we get for custom one-off applications. It truly depends on the scope of the project as well as what we have on our plate. But again feel free to e-mail us if you have a chassis which we do not offer coilovers for. It doesn't hurt to ask.
9. What is your current lead time?
That all depends. Sometimes it’s a few days, sometimes it can be months. It is solely based on the season, as well as the application. We stock many parts so we can assemble applications immediately, but that is not always the case. It is always best to e-mail us directly and ask what our current lead time is.
10. What are your nameplates made out of?
Funny, but we actually get asked this question a lot. We use quality parts on every aspect of our dampers and on other products we make. The stickers, or nameplates as we like to call them, are made out of real aluminum which are anodized with our logo. So not only are they real aluminum, but they are as gorgeous and durable as our coilovers. Can we say attention to detail? Damn straight.
11. What is the Customer Center?
The Customer Center can be found on the main navigation menu. The Customer Center is where our customers can log in and view the status of their orders, whether they have been made or when they have been shipped. The system is quite easy to use, and all you need is your invoice number and your e-mail address to login. This is updated anytime any progress is made with your order, and is an easy way to retrieve your tracking number if your item has already shipped. What’s more, an e-mail is sent out to notify the customer of any change to any update on the Center. The Customer Center is a fast and easy way for us to keep our customers up to date. We kindly ask that you use the Customer Center if you have placed a order with us and would like an update. If you have a question that needs answering, simply contact us directly if the Customer Center is not sufficient.
12. Do I need a camber kit?
This is one of the most commonly asked questions that we get, and the answer is NO. What is most important is getting an alignment as soon as possible, and have your toe set to zero. A little bit of negative camber is not going to increase your tire wear dramatically, but bad toe will. Also a lot of camber kits, especially the ones made for the Honda and Acura platform are not friendly to the shock towers. It is very common that the aftermarket adjustable upper control arms slaps the inside of the shock towers causing small stress cracks. It is especially prone on setups that are lowered more than 2 inches, and are on either lowering springs or coilovers with a soft spring rate. We highly suggest running your OEM upper control arm, and have an alignment shop reset your toe settings back to exactly zero.
